How to Stack Your Flares Like a Pro

You've seen the look: a clean, heavy bunch of denim resting perfectly over chunky sneakers. That's the "stack" – the signature of true streetwear culture. But getting it right takes more than just buying an extra‑long inseam. Here's our pro guide to mastering the stacked flare.

Start with the Right Inseam

For a dramatic stack, your jeans should be 2–4 inches longer than your regular inseam. All our flares are cut with an elongated inseam by default, but if you're between sizes, size up for maximum bunch. The goal is to let the fabric settle naturally around your ankle without looking sloppy.

Pro tip: Measure your bare ankle to floor while standing. Add 3 inches for a heavy stack – that's your ideal inseam.

Pair with the Right Footwear

Stacked flares were made for chunky sneakers – think New Balance 550s, Nike Air Force 1s, or any platform silhouette. The bulk of the sneaker "catches" the hem and creates those vertical ripples. Avoid slim trainers or loafers; they'll make the stack look messy.

Care & Maintenance

To preserve the stack, never iron the hems flat. Wash inside out in cold water and hang dry – the raw edges will fray naturally, adding character. Avoid the dryer; heat shrinks the inseam and kills the stack.

Starch trick: Light starch on the lower leg helps the folds hold shape. Spray lightly before wearing.

Ready to build your stack?

All our reconstructed flares come pre‑cut with extra length. From the Charcoal Carpenter to the Camo Paneled, every pair is ready to stack fresh out the bag.
